Evil And Hope That The Person's Movement Causes
Nowadays we can easily acquire information from
far away countries. The distance between nations has contracted. Globalization has
been around since the
For example, independent countries after
World War II, which
As a result, the civilization at the
twentieth century has developed in dramatic by technology and economy. There
are many innovations. Airplanes, rockets, TV, robots, computers,
optical communications, the Internet etc.
People’s lives have changed greatly by grace
of the new technology. However it was a superficial globalization on the other
side. The economic development brought rich civilization life to people in a
specific country, but it did not lead to the development of all parts of the
world. It has expanded the gap between the advanced countries and the
developing countries, rich and poor. A lot of people have faced food shortage
crisis.
We have neglected bad influences that come
with development. Therefore we should face to the future world with a generous
attitude and flexible view of diversity of society and culture, and different
value, which each person has. We should create a world in which people
understand each other well.
In this discussion, we will deeply understand the problems arising when people come in contact with different cultures. We are going to discuss how to coexist. We will find clear solution by separately thinking at the individual, the nation, and the world level.
As the globalization of society has
continued to grow in recent years, there is a need to build closer
relationships of cooperation that transcend the political borders in the world.
Since the late 90’s, the movement towards economic unification between
countries and normalization of society has been increasing. Free trade
agreements (FTA’s) in particular have been on the
rise and today number as many as 155 around the world. Moreover the number of
federal nations that are based on FTA’s has
increased.
One recent example of this movement is that
more than 10 countries are going to join the EU in May 2004. With these new
additions the EU will comprise of 25 countries and hold 25% of the GDP of the
world. On the other hand, in
As each country is unique and has different
regulations for FTA, the political, economical, cultural and historical state
of each country must be taken into consideration. Also, there are many people who are trying to
protect their domestic industries. If free trade is executed without
consideration of these issues, the economic gap between the affiliated countries could increase.
In this discussion session, we will focus on
economic globalization by understanding the advantages and disadvantages of
having different types of FTA’s and regional
integration. We are going to discuss solutions to problems caused by FTA’s and what FTA’s will look
like in the future. The effect of FTA on our society will also be a subject of
discussion at this conference
Because globalization in society has
advanced, many problems have arisen that cannot be solved without the aid of
other countries, such as illegal selling and buying of arms, smuggling of
drugs, terrorism, and coming and going of refugees.
Development and possession of nuclear
weapons has been a barrier for good
relationships among countries. In this kind of situation, it is very meaningful
for the United Nations to provide a place where countries can discuss in order
to build mutual trusting relationships.
The United Nations, the biggest organization
in the world, was established in 1945 for world’s peace and the maintenance of
the world’s safety, with the principles of basic human rights, which are not
based on differences of race, sex, language, religion, (but on) respect of
humanity, and equal rights among countries of any size.
Now, the 191 affiliated countries of the
United Nations hold hands together for world’s peace, even when they have
different cultures and economical conditions. Also, related organizations of
the United Nations, such as WTO and UNICEF, are supporting a large part of the
of the worlds’ society.
However, the United Nations is facing many
problems such as finances and diplomacy when conducting their activities.
Therefore, in this discussion session, we would like to think the global and
individual point of view about what we should do to solve those problems of
world’s peace when we are the ones who are going to have to influence the next
generation. We would like to exchange our honest opinions, and think about the
issues from different viewpoints that can contribute to world’s peace in the
future.
The Possibilities
Brings Sightseeing
The subject we are
faced with has reached in many fields now when globalization on earth progressed.
The solution of each subject is not easy, Cooperation efforts by many countries
and organizations are needed, and those problems are the thing, which must be tackled
earnestly by each country.
In the end of the
20th century, the global number of foreign travelers has reached 697
million (WTO), swelling by about 4
times compared with 30 years ago when it was merely 159 million people. The
travel industry holds 11.4% of the gross product in the whole world, and it has
become the world's largest industry.
It employs 200 million people.
However, entering
the 21st century there were incidents, which affected the industry
greatly, and future travel industry is in a critical situation. Terror acts frequently
occur everywhere, a new type of pneumonia, chicken flue, etc. The slogan for the international tourism
year in 1968 was [TOURISM IS PASSPORT TO PEACE] and if we look at the state of
things in the world now, we can acutely feel that the tourism industry is an industry
that exists if there is peace and safety.
This sub-committee will discuss what is the role of tourism and the possibilities in face of the frightening
situation into which the world is heading with all incidents that are happening
rather than discuss future tourism only. Tourism is groping for a new
form of sightseeing nowadays when mass tourism using large-scale air
transportation and tourism development is threatened by evil deeds. There is
also the eco-tourism and alternative tourism, which are different from the
tourism we knew up to now. Alternative tourism is thought to include different
possibilities in it, like environmental issues, accurate history knowledge and
co-existing with local cultures. We would like the participants from
There are 6
billion people in the world. We had many kinds of cultures and also different
types of ways of thinking for a long time ago. In addition, their cultures and
backgrounds make their nations original. We cannot explain the world with just
one word. As globalization progresses, the walls between countries have become
lower and travel between them is a lot easier too. Foreign countries seem much
closer we feel foreign influence in different aspects of our lives.
Globalization has affected education too.
English is widely
used as the main language for communication. Furthermore, globalization and
internationalization have been key words in classrooms in educational projects.
For example, we started communicating with students from all over the world
directly by using the Internet or video conferencing enabling to connect with
the classes in different countries, real time.
However, the
globalization tends to bring some problems due to westernization and conformities.
Nationalism is rising as result of globalization and it leads to regional
conflicts. In the education field, languages become more unified, and some
languages and cultures are lost in parts of the world.
What kind of education do we
need in the age of globalization of society? Of course education has many types
of styles and its range is so wide that we cannot talk about only reading and
writing literacy. However, we also must consider the different types of
education styles we have in the world in different societies. As we consider
the advance of globalization in the future, there are
issues we need to consider from the educational viewpoint.
In this discussion
session, we will focus on educational globalization by understanding the
advantages and disadvantages of the current education. We are going to discuss
what is necessary for the future education under growing the globalization.
